  23.             The Ohio  Supercomputer  Center  (OSC)  is  a  state-funded,
  24.             shared  supercomputer  resource for researchers at Ohio col-
  25.             leges and universities.  Commercial industry uses  the  CRAY
  26.             on  a  cost-recovery  basis.   In  September  1989 a CRAY Y-
  27.             MP8/864 will be available to users.

  29.             The Ohio Supercomputer Graphics Project is a major component
  30.             of  the OSC's program.  The Project has developed a graphics
  31.             visualization toolkit, apE,  for  displaying  and  animating
  32.             results  of  scientific  computation  on  several  supported
  33.             workstations.   This  developing  product  is   commercially
  34.             available through the Center.

  36.             The Ohio Visualization Laboratory (OVL) houses hardware  for
  37.             visualizing  scientific results of projects conducted on the
  38.             CRAY.  The OVL includes high-end (e.g., Abekas,  Pixar,  and
  39.             Stellar)  workstations  and  paper  output  devices; display
  40.             equipment  and  software;  and  video  equipment,  including
  41.             display,   conversion,  and  animation  storage  facilities.
  42.             Users generally come to the  Laboratory  to  use  equipment,
  43.             although much equipment can be used over TCP/IP networks.

  47.             Full login availability over Internet and the Ohio  Academic
  48.             Resources Network (OARnet).  Jobs may also be submitted over
  49.             Bitnet  from VMS Cray Station Sites.
